Pricing
How Commercial Laundry Pricing Works
Per kilogram or per piece? What actually moves a commercial laundry rate, how to compare two quotes fairly, and why we quote against your load rather than publishing a rate card.
The two pricing models
Almost every commercial laundry quote is built on one of these. Knowing which one suits your load is the difference between a contract that works and one you renegotiate in six months.
Priced per kilogram
Bulky, consistent loads where throughput matters more than per-item finish.
Typically suits
- Hospital and nursing-home ward linen
- Hostel, PG and co-living bedding
- Factory and industrial workwear
- Mixed loads with a stable item profile
Always ask: Is the rate on wet or dry weight, and where is the weighing done? These are different numbers.
Priced per piece
Loads where presentation matters and item types vary widely.
Typically suits
- Hotel bed linen, towels and bathrobes
- Restaurant table linen and napkins
- Chef whites, aprons and staff uniforms
- Cleanroom and pharmaceutical garments
Always ask: How is a "piece" defined, and are pressing and finishing included in that rate?
What actually moves the rate
These are the variables we work through when preparing a quote. They are also the ones worth checking in anyone else’s.
- Volume and consistency
- Higher, steadier volume lowers the per-unit rate — both routing and plant loading get more efficient.
- Turnaround commitment
- Faster guaranteed turnaround costs more, because it limits how loads can be batched.
- Soil level
- Heavily soiled workwear needs pre-treatment and longer cycles than lightly used room linen.
- Finish required
- Flatwork pressing, hanger finishing and individual packing each add labour to every item.
- Collection frequency
- Daily collection costs more to run than twice-weekly — but lets you hold less linen, which is often the better trade.
- Segregation and documentation
- Healthcare and cleanroom streams carry genuine process cost. This is usually what a suspiciously cheap quote has left out.
Why we don’t publish a rate card
Because a single published number would be misleading for almost everyone who reads it. A 30-room hotel wanting twice-weekly collection and a 300-bed hospital wanting daily segregated collection are not the same job, and pretending they price the same helps nobody.
What we will do is show our working. When we quote, you get the unit we are pricing on, what is included, the turnaround we are committing to, and which of the factors above drove the number. If you want to change one — collect less often, relax the turnaround — we will tell you what it does to the rate.
Common pricing questions
- What is the rate per kg for commercial laundry in Ahmedabad?
- It depends on volume, turnaround, soil level and finishing required — the same linen genuinely costs different amounts to process under different conditions. Rather than publish a figure that would be wrong for most enquiries, we quote against your actual load and show you what drove the number.
- Should we choose per-kg or per-piece pricing?
- Per-kg suits bulky, consistent loads such as ward linen, hostel bedding and industrial workwear. Per-piece suits loads where finish matters and item types vary, such as hotel linen, uniforms and chef whites. We will tell you which fits your operation, including when it is not the one that favours us.
- How do we compare two laundry quotes fairly?
- Convert both into the unit your P&L already uses — cost per occupied room, per bed-day, or per employee-shift. A per-kg quote and a per-piece quote cannot be compared directly, but both can be expressed in your operating unit. Then check what each includes: collection, delivery, finishing, packing and replacement of lost items.
- Are there hidden charges?
- Not from us. Every quote states explicitly what is included and lists anything that is not, rather than adding it later. If a rate looks materially lower than everyone else, ask what has been left out of scope — that is usually where the difference is.
