Questions
Commercial Laundry FAQs — Pricing, Turnaround and Handling
Straight answers on how commercial laundry is priced, how collection and turnaround work, how hospital and cleanroom linen is handled, and what to expect from a contract in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
Getting started
- Do you provide commercial laundry services in Ahmedabad?
- Yes. Pavitra Laundry is based in Nikol, Ahmedabad and serves businesses across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, including Naroda, Bapunagar, Maninagar, SG Highway, Prahlad Nagar, Bopal, Satellite and Chandkheda. We collect from your premises and deliver back on an agreed schedule.
- Is there a minimum quantity for a commercial contract?
- Our commercial service is built around regular, recurring volume rather than one-off loads, but there is no fixed cut-off. Tell us your daily or weekly load and we will tell you honestly whether a commercial contract makes sense for you or whether you are better served another way.
- How do I get a quote?
- Send us your organisation type, approximate volume and the turnaround you need through the quote form, or call us. We quote against your actual requirement, so the more detail you give — item types, collection frequency, finish required — the more accurate the number.
- Can we trial the service before committing?
- Yes, and we recommend it. Start with a portion of your volume for an agreed trial period. It shows you whether collection times hold, whether counts reconcile and whether quality is consistent when our plant is busy — none of which a site visit alone can tell you.
Pricing and contracts
- How is commercial laundry priced?
- Either per kilogram or per piece, depending on what suits your load. Per-kg suits bulky, consistent loads such as ward linen or hostel bedding. Per-piece suits loads where finish matters and item types vary, such as hotel linen, uniforms and chef whites. We will recommend which fits your operation.
- Why do you not publish a rate card?
- Because the same linen genuinely costs different amounts to process. Volume, collection frequency, soil level, turnaround commitment and finishing requirements all move the rate, and a published figure would either be misleadingly low or unnecessarily high for most enquiries. We show you the working behind the number we quote.
- What is included in the quoted rate?
- We state this explicitly in every quote: collection, delivery, washing, finishing and packing as applicable to your items. Anything not included is listed separately rather than added later.
- How are shortages or damaged items handled?
- The counting method is agreed before service starts — where items are counted, by whom, and how a discrepancy is recorded. This is written into the agreement, because it causes more friction than pricing ever does if left vague.
Collection, delivery and turnaround
- How does pickup and delivery work?
- We agree fixed collection and delivery windows that fit your operation — around housekeeping shifts for a hotel, around ward routines for a hospital, outside service hours for a restaurant. Collection runs on the agreed schedule rather than on request, so your team can plan around it.
- What is your turnaround time?
- Turnaround is agreed per contract and depends on volume, item type and finishing required. We commit to a specific window in writing rather than a general expectation, because your linen par levels depend on it being reliable.
- Do you operate outside normal business hours?
- Yes. Collection and delivery can be scheduled around your operating pattern, including early morning and late evening windows where that suits your changeover or shift timings.
- What areas do you cover?
- Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. We would rather tell you plainly that somewhere is outside our reliable service area than take on a route we cannot service consistently.
Handling and process
- How is hospital linen handled differently?
- Hospital linen is segregated at source into colour-coded streams — general, infected, heavily soiled and theatre — and those streams are kept separate through collection, processing and return. Clean and soiled linen never share a trolley or an uncleaned vehicle compartment. Infected-linen loads are processed on dedicated cycles.
- How are cleanroom and pharmaceutical garments processed?
- Cleanroom garments are handled as a separate stream from general workwear, washed in treated-water cycles with anti-static rinses, dried under filtered airflow and sealed for transfer into your controlled area. Batch documentation is provided for your facility records.
- What do you do about stains?
- Stains are identified and treated at sorting rather than washed blind, because most are removable when fresh and permanent once heat-set. If you tell us what caused a stain — oil, wine, turmeric, blood — it materially improves the chance of removing it, as each needs a different treatment.
- Will commercial washing shorten the life of our linen?
- Done badly, yes — over-drying and routine heavy bleaching are the main causes of premature linen failure. Correct sorting, targeted stain treatment, controlled drying and proper neutralising of wash alkalinity all extend linen life. We treat linen life as part of the cost of the service, not a separate problem.
