How Our Commercial Laundry Service Works
From first survey to scheduled delivery: how we set up a commercial laundry contract, how your linen is sorted, processed and returned, and what you can hold us to at each stage.
Setting up a contract
Requirement survey
We go through your item types, daily and peak volumes, the turnaround you need and any handling requirements — segregation for healthcare, controlled handling for cleanroom garments, finishing standards for front-of-house linen.
Schedule and rate proposal
You get a proposed collection and delivery schedule built around your operating pattern, and a rate with the unit stated, what is included, and what drove the number.
Counting method agreed
Before anything moves, we agree where items are counted, by whom, and how a discrepancy gets recorded. Settling this first prevents the most common source of contract friction.
Trial period
We start with a portion of your volume so you can verify that collection times hold, counts reconcile and quality is consistent — before you move everything across.
What happens to every load
Once a contract is running, this is the cycle your linen goes through each time it is collected.
Scheduled collection
Linen is collected in your agreed window, in covered containment, from an agreed point on your premises. Soiled linen never travels in an uncleaned compartment that will later carry clean stock.
Receipt and counting
The load is received and counted against the agreed method, so what arrived is recorded before anything is processed.
Sorting and stain identification
Items are sorted by fabric, colour and soil level, and stains are identified and treated at this stage rather than washed blind. Healthcare and cleanroom streams are kept fully separate from general work.
Washing to the right formula
Each stream runs its own wash formula. Wash alkalinity is neutralised at the end of the cycle rather than left in the fibre, which is what protects linen life between washes.
Controlled drying and finishing
Drying is stopped short of bone dry — over-drying is the single biggest cause of premature linen failure. Flatwork is steam pressed, garments are finished and hung or folded per your specification.
Inspection and packing
Items are checked for finish and damage, anything failing inspection is reprocessed rather than sent back, and clean stock is packed according to your requirement.
Delivery in the agreed window
Clean linen returns sealed or wrapped, in the delivery window you planned around, to the point on your premises you nominated.
Come and see it
A process description is only worth so much. If you are evaluating laundry vendors, visit the plant — look at whether clean and soiled linen are genuinely kept apart, whether sorting is orderly, and whether the staff can explain their own process. We are happy to be assessed that way.
